It was party time last week with some of the GRM team delighted to accept an invitation to attend the Davidsons Homes Awards Ceremony held at the prestigious Athena in Leicester on Friday 30th January.
The whole event was a celebration of collaboration and success within the construction industry, and GRM were proud to have been a nominated finalist in the ‘Consultant’ category. Whilst we didn’t win this year, the GRM team still partied hard throughout the night and celebrated all the achievements along with the other finalists across all the categories. Glenfield Hospital continues to be the nominated charity for the event, with tens of thousands of pounds raised on the night (at least two GRM staff have benefited from the fantastic team of surgeons there).
GRM has worked with Davidsons Homes since their inception in 2007, providing a range of environmental, geotechnical and structural services including site investigations, foundation design, earthworks supervision and MMPs (to name a few). This relationship continues to grow stronger, and we are delighted to be working with them on a high percentage of their current ongoing projects.
It was also poignant given that this was the last event that Dr Bill Peacock, one of our founders and former MD, would be attending as a GRM ’employee’! After 35 years with the company, Bill retires at the end of this month and takes a well earned break from working with us lot!
Suffice to say (and as can be seen from the headline picture), Bill partied harder than most on the night, not only with the GRM team but also the wider construction community who regularly came to our table to congratulate him on his service to our industry and wish all the very best in retirement.
Apparently Bill also enjoyed the food on the night, especially the dessert as seen below!
