Our annual team crazy golf tournament recently took place at Branston Golf & Country Club and, once again, we were treated to fantastic weather and perfect playing conditions in the shady woodland course!
Now firmly established as a highlight of the GRM social calendar, the event continues to bring out the competitive spirit in everyone. Individual and team prizes were up for grabs, with the usual rumours of secret practice sessions and last-minute tactics circulating in the days leading up to the competition!
First held back in 2022 to celebrate GRM reaching the 10,000 project milestone, the tournament remains one of our favourite annual events as we continue to build on that success.
As always, there was an excellent turnout, with the promise of an afternoon away from the office proving as popular as ever. Players battled it out over 18 holes, with prizes on offer for the lowest individual score, the winning team and, of course, the highest-scoring team. Friendly rivalries were quickly reignited, with plenty of banter, celebrations and the occasional groan as putts refused to drop.
After completing the course, everyone gathered back on the clubhouse patio to enjoy some well-earned refreshments and a BBQ while comparing scorecards and discussing what might have been “if only that one had gone in!”. Once the scores had been counted and verified, it was time for the ever-popular prize presentation.
Congratulations to this year’s winning team of Rogan, Joe, Geoff and Siobhan, who claimed the team title after an impressive performance. Siobhan also took home the award for the lowest individual score of the day, rounding off an excellent afternoon. Meanwhile, the prize for the highest team score was presented with the usual good humour, proving once again that taking part (and providing entertainment!) is all part of the fun.
A huge thank you to Branston Golf & Country Club for once again being fantastic hosts, and to the GRM Directors for treating everyone to another enjoyable afternoon away from the office. We’re already looking forward to next year’s tournament, when old rivalries will be renewed, new champions will emerge, and the bragging rights will once again be up for grabs!
