GRM-Sponsored Junior Football Team Holds Presentation and Fundraising Event to Celebrate First Season

Earlier this year we ran a story about Liam Atkin-Press (one of our Senior Field Technicians), and the GRM-sponsored Woodville Rangers U8s football team that he coaches in his spare time (Shining a Spotlight on Staff: Liam Atkin-Press).

The season has now finished, and the team, coaches and parents recently came together for a presentation and fundraising event to celebrate their first year in the Burton Junior Football League.

All 11 of the players received trophies and medals in recognition for all their hard work and dedication both on and off the field. There was a customary BBQ with burgers, drinks, ice cream, games, and a big bouncy castle slide. And to top it off the players even got the opportunity to SOAK THE COACH!

Liam was understandably emotional and thanked everyone for making the first season so memorable: “It has been wonderful to see how much progress the team has made over the season, and the amazing bonds the players have made with each other. We also need to recognise the input and support of the parents and coaching staff, which include Mark, Antony, and my wife Liz who have all helped to progress the players during this first season. Thanks also to the Directors of GRM who sponsored the kit!”

A whopping £1600 was raised at the event, with all monies being put back into the club to support future seasons including the purchase of new equipment.
