Celebrating Longstanding Clients and Colleagues as GRM Reaches 20,000 Project Enquiries

We usually take pride in uncovering data for our clients, but this month it was a piece of internal information that caught our attention!

Back in 1993, founders Dr Bill Peacock and Chris Jerram started a new system for managing client Enquiries and subsequently confirmed Projects, starting both counts at number 0001!

Fast-forward 32 years and our Enquiry tally has now gone beyond the 20,000 milestone! In fact, Enquiry 20000 was from the national housebuilder Taylor Wimpey who we’ve worked with on a wide range of projects since 2001 (including both former companies Taylor Woodrow and George Wimpey before they merged). Another interesting fact, the Woodrow part of Taylor Woodrow was subsequently sold to VINCI who we have worked with on over 50 projects.

While reaching 20,000 enquiries is a fantastic achievement, we think it is even more impressive that GRM has converted more than 55% of these enquiries into confirmed Projects (we are well past 11,000 instructed Projects).

Our ongoing success is underpinned by the time we take to understand the details of every client project, and then identify and implement the most cost-effective solution. This creates a high degree of trust with our clients and typically results in longstanding relationships involving repeat business and recommendations to other landowners and developers.

In fact, over 80% of our work comes from existing clients who trust us and benefit from our proven track record of saving both time and construction cost.

And it is not only our clients who have remained loyal to us over the decades. Mandy Bryant, our Company Secretary, Financial Controller & HR Manager is celebrating 26 years at GRM this month!

She started back in December 1999 as the Office Administrator when GRM was based on Bretby Business Park and had just 8 staff!

Mandy admits to being slightly sceptical when Chris and Bill first offered her the role but now firmly believes that “It was the best decision THEY ever made…”!!

Mandy has overseen plenty of changes since she joined, including the move to our current head office in Laurus House, growth of the team to nearly 50 employees, a change in ownership, and the procurement of a fleet of new vans (two of which are shown along with Site Inspector Trevor and Senior Technician Liam outside our head office).
