Our annual team crazy golf tournament took place last week at Branston Golf & Country Club and was once again blessed with wonderful weather and perfect conditions! Individual and team prizes were up for grabs, with rumours circulating that several people had been in advance to get extra practice!
This was the fourth year that we have held this summer event, which was initiated to celebrate GRM reaching the 10,000 project milestone (we are now rapidly closing in on 11,000!)
There was the usual great turn-out (an afternoon off work can have that effect), with 32 players competing for both individual and team prizes (including lowest scoring player, lowest average team score and highest scoring team). Rivalries were renewed from previous years, with the tension and banter building during the preceding week. Suffice to say that for some this pressure was too much and they crumbled on the day!
After completing the full 18 holes everyone retired back to the clubhouse patio for some well-earned drinks, a BBQ and to share excuses of what could have been “if only that putt had dropped…”. Scores were counted and independently verified ahead of the not-so-formal prize giving ceremony.
The winning team consisted of Joe, Siobhan, Bill and Chris, with the lowest score of the day going to Cameron. The wooden spoon for highest team score went to Dave, Nicola, Sally-ann and Alex (see pics below).
Thanks to Branston Golf & Country Club for hosting us, and to the Directors for the afternoon out of the office! We’ll be back next year to renew rivalries and settle old scores!
