Welcomed Back To Work With Winter Weather Warnings!

All of our teams came back to work this week re-energised after the festive break and ready to support a wide range of client projects. Which is a good job really, given that the New Year has welcomed us back with wintery weather conditions and, on this occasion, amber warnings for snow here at our Burton on Trent head office!

But we are a resilient bunch, and so far the week is going according to plan, even for those out in the field! Here is a taster of what is happening here at GRM through week one of 2026:

  • Geo-environmental site investigations on several brownfield sites in Cheshire and Flintshire.
  • Site investigations in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, including undertaking hand shear vanes in cohesive strata for a working platform design.
  • Gas and groundwater monitoring in Greater Manchester, Nottinghamshire, Somerset, Birmingham and Leicestershire.
  • Low flow water sampling on a brownfield site in Staffordshire.
  • Soil validation depth checks and sampling for capped gardens in Worcestershire.
  • A site walkover and soakage testing to inform proposals for a new development in Derbyshire.

Plus internal training for Quality Assurance and COSHH in our Burton office, fuelled by pizzas!

We have a new starter in our CAD team (assistant CAD technician) but are still on the look out for graduate and senior geo-environmental engineers / engineering geologists. More information on these vacancies on our Careers Page: Land, Your Perfect Career

Happy New Year to all our clients, partners and colleagues from everyone at GRM!
