National Underwear Day ‘reinforces’ the importance of Good Foundations!

It has been a busy week for everyone here at GRM so please forgive this ‘silly season’ summer post which attempts to ride on the back of National Underwear Day (celebrated annually on 5th August) with a somewhat tenuous link to the importance of good building foundations!

And we promise to keep it ‘brief’…

National Underwear Day might seem like an unusual thing to celebrate, but it does remind us of one important principle: what you don’t see is often the most important part.

While most of our clients focus on what they want to build above ground, every successful development starts below the surface. We find out what is there, advise on how it may impact the development project (and if so how to cost-effectively deal with it), and then support our clients throughout the construction phase. Getting the fundamentals right from the start helps reduce risk, avoid costly surprises, and gives every project the best chance of success.

Typical services that we provide include:

  • Ground investigations
  • Geo-environmental assessments
  • Structural advice
  • Foundation design
  • Foundation inspections

Our specialist Foundation Design Services team brings together the expertise of engineering geologists, geotechnical engineers, structural engineers and CAD technicians to deliver bespoke solutions for individual land development projects.

Because whether we’re talking about buildings or… well… underwear… Good foundations matter.

If you have any development or construction projects, then please get in touch to find out how we can help save both time and costs. Please use your main point of contact at GRM or for new enquiries email richard.upton@grm-uk.com or call 01283 551249.
