Phase II site investigations involve the use of intrusive methods such as: trial pits, cable percussion boreholes, window sampling, rotary coring and rotary open holes.

The phase II investigations are designed to determine the ground conditions to enable foundation solutions and any remedial requirements to be assessed.

GRM’s Phase II investigations are designed in accordance with:

  • CLR 11 – Model Procedures for the Management of Land Contamination.
  • BS10175 – Investigation of Potentially Contaminated Sites. Code of Practice.
  • BS5930 / Eurocode 7
  • CIRIA C665
  • BRE 365

The results of the intrusive investigation allied to laboratory testing provides the factual data required to prepare a full interpretive site investigation report. As part of this process, the conceptual model is refined, and the most cost-effective development solutions determined.
