The benefits of using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), or drones, to carry out tasks across multiple industry sectors are well-known.
In the geotechnical sector, Using a drone offers increased efficiency, safety and cost-savings. Surveys which would take many hours, or even days, by foot can often be carried out in less than an hour with a drone.
Because of the amount of data generated, surveys carried out by drone are likely to provide much more accurate results when quantifying stockpile and excavation volumes. They also have added benefits when access is restricted.
GRM offers aerial surveys and inspections both as a stand-alone service, or as part of an integrated package, depending on your requirements. What sets us apart is that our CAA approved pilots are also experienced geologists/geotechnical and structural engineers, ideally positioned to make project related observations during flights; our structural engineers are also available to view live images.
Our fully insured Aerial Team is on the Drone Safe Register, and we are members of ARPAS.
